European Challenges for Laboratory Medicine

Workshop Highlights:

• This workshop will enable Professionals from Academic hospitals, private laboratories, In Vitro diagnostic companies and research units to discuss common challenges they face.
• It will help them to understand the various test reimbursement policies across Europe, and to explore future perspectives and advices for quicker and cost-effective market access of innovative laboratory tests in the future.
• Case-study presentations will highlight the differences in market access in various European countries and elsewhere.

This Workshop is free of charge and open to:

• Members of Scientific Societies
• Young scientists, pathologists, laboratorians, clinical chemists
• Members of In Vitro Diagnostic Manufacturers Associations
• Corporate Associate Members of EDMA and UNAMEC
• Members and staff of the National Associations affiliated to EDMA
• Members of IVD Trade associations based outside of Europe and collaborating with EDMA (AdvaMed, MEDEC, CBDL, JACRI, IVD Australia, SAIDA etc)

The number of participants is limited to 150 people.

The number of persons per company, association or society is not limited, but the registration will be closed after 150 people (and in any case by 26 October 2010).

 Dinner Conference at the European Parliament - 29 June 2010 - Brussels

"The Revolution of Knowledge in Healthcare"

Aimed at a specialist audience of policymakers and healthcare stakeholders, this event, which was hosted by Dr. Miroslav Mikolášik MEP, constituted an excellent networking opportunity and an ideal occasion for the exchange of views on ongoing public health initiatives at European level.

In view of the significant challenges currently faced by healthcare services in Europe, future trends such as personalised medicine were at the centre of the debate. The particular aim of the event was to discuss the “Revolution of Knowledge in Healthcare”.

 General Assembly and 30th Anniversary of EDMA - 28 October 2009 - Brussels

"Advancing IVDs since 1979, together"

The EDMA General Assembly and celebration of the Association's 30th anniversary on 28 October 2009 were a great success and a day we truly wish to remember.

The General Assembly constituted an essential occasion for all participants to discuss the opportunities and challenges awaiting the in vitro Diagnostic industry in the years to come.
