EDMA Ethics

The EDMA Code of Ethics is intended to provide guidance on the interactions of EDMA members with individuals or entities that purchase, lease, recommend, use, arrange for the purchase or lease of, or prescribe members’ IVD medical devices (“Health Care Professionals”) in Europe and, generally, elsewhere. There are many forms of interactions between EDMA members and healthcare professionals that advance medical science or improve patient care.

The EDMA Code of Ethics is accompanied by a joint transatlantic statement, which was signed in May 2010 by EDMA, AdvaMed and Eucomed. This agreement, promoting ethical interactions between medical technology companies and healthcare professionals, aims to advance global compliance through regular communication, joint policies (where appropriate), joint activities, and other appropriate collaborations.
